How we started...
The Charleston Autism Academy was founded by a group of parents of children with autism who have been personally affected by the scarcity of autism services available to children in Charleston, South Carolina.
What began as a group of people sitting in local living rooms, trying to put their dreams into a formal, organized therapy program for the community, has now become a reality. The dreams now have a home - in our own dedicated therapy rooms at the Unity Baptist Church.
This personal experience has interjected a lot of passion and love into the program to provide the children a therapeutic program that is not otherwise available in the South Carolina Lowcountry.
While the Charleston Autism Academy was founded by parents, it is operated by qualified professionals who have experience in funneling creative energy into a formal program.
We are truly fortunate to have this mix in our organization.
